What has happened to Good Food Café? - the sequel

I walked over to Good Food Cafe at noon, when they should have been open according to their web site. They weren't, and there were painters and other workers inside taking the place apart.

Their phone number (617) 876-2450 is disconnected, which would seem to make it hard to run a catering business either.

Anyone know what's going on?

I know that as recently as last week, there was a sign in the window saying the business was for sale and he was hoping to get $38K for it.....so maybe someone bought it?

How long ago did it close? I don't walk that direction very frequently.

That's a shame. I loved their sandwiches dearly, but after multiple experiences of showing up during posted hours and either finding them randomly closed or, more often, out of bread or sandwich ingredients, I stopped bothering to walk down there. I'm guessing a lot of other customers did the same.

First time I saw the "Restaurant For Sale" sign was October 13.

I am sad, because I enjoyed him and his food, but I don't think that he had the entirety of the skill set one needs to run a restaurant. I wish him all the best in whatever his next endeavor is!

That was a noble effort but never seemed like a good location for a cafe (I'd been going there now and then since they opened... 3 years ago?). It's always a little awkward to be the only diner in the place; it's a bad sign when that's always the situation.
