Free not on Side of Road
Dec. 5th, 2010 05:07 pmAlso in our cleaning out, we have several cans of paint (latex, in gallons and quarts, interior, eggshell finish) that we cannot get rid of until the next Haz Waste day (in April). We'd love to pass these on to someone who might use them for an art project or house decorating or whatever. What we hope is that someone would take all or most of it off our hands, rather than people picking and choosing colors. There are 18 cans in total, and colors include white, taupe, peach/tan, pale yellow, brown (small can), blue/teal (small can), a greenish blue (small can), a dusty green, hot pink, and more. None of the gallons are more than half full, the small cans are probably more than half full.
If anyone is interested in taking them, or has a suggestion on how to get rid of them before April, please drop a line to me.

Date: 2010-12-06 12:00 am (UTC)oh my god, carrying those paint cans plus a backpack full of supplies even just a mile home was TORTURE. some brands now have cans without that awful wire handle which is awesome.
anyways, /useless comment, heh. you could even grab their granny cart from the trash tonight and use that for free ;)

Date: 2010-12-05 10:37 pm (UTC)If you don't, you _are_ allowed to throw away latex paint. It just needs to be dried first. You can mix it with cat litter, paint drying stuff, or pour it out (onto something you were already going to throw away) and let it dry.
Congrats on your cleanout!

Date: 2010-12-05 10:50 pm (UTC)We have dried out some paint before, either by leaving lids off when there wasn't much left, or the kitty litter plan. Just figured this was a lot of paint to dispose of that way. If someone above takes the bright fun colors, and we just have to do the "boring" colors, that would make it much more manageable.
