Also in our cleaning out, we have several cans of paint (latex, in gallons and quarts, interior, eggshell finish) that we cannot get rid of until the next Haz Waste day (in April). We'd love to pass these on to someone who might use them for an art project or house decorating or whatever. What we hope is that someone would take all or most of it off our hands, rather than people picking and choosing colors. There are 18 cans in total, and colors include white, taupe, peach/tan, pale yellow, brown (small can), blue/teal (small can), a greenish blue (small can), a dusty green, hot pink, and more. None of the gallons are more than half full, the small cans are probably more than half full.

If anyone is interested in taking them, or has a suggestion on how to get rid of them before April, please drop a line to me.

Unfortunately I'm a pick-and-chooser, but I'd be happy to take all of the "not-white/off-white/basically yellow or boring" colors off of your hands. :)

How about either Tuesday morning (11ish), or Monday evening around 10pm?

Yay, paint!

Sweet! Tuesday morning at 11. I'll make a zipcar reservation Monday night (I don't fancy carrying however many gallons of paint, even if it only is a 15 minute walk or so) - so let me know if someone else grabs it before then? :)

omg yes. when i moved to quincy i took a half day at work to come home, pick up some paint, and well, paint. i took the T to work since we were by the quincy adams station, which has a home depot right behind it.

oh my god, carrying those paint cans plus a backpack full of supplies even just a mile home was TORTURE. some brands now have cans without that awful wire handle which is awesome.

anyways, /useless comment, heh. you could even grab their granny cart from the trash tonight and use that for free ;)

Hi there!

I'm making a zipcar reservation right now. I'll be there shortly after 11 am! See you tomorrow morning. :)

Good luck finding someone who wants it! It's possible!

If you don't, you _are_ allowed to throw away latex paint. It just needs to be dried first. You can mix it with cat litter, paint drying stuff, or pour it out (onto something you were already going to throw away) and let it dry.

Congrats on your cleanout!

I know that when I was in high school, the theatre kids could always use more light coloured paint to use as a basecoat when repainting sets. I didn't go to school in this state, so I don't know that any school theatres would be interested, but if you're looking for someone who might like the paint, you might look there?

If you don't get takers for all of it here, try Somerville Freecycle.

Yes, if I remember correctly someone was looking for neutral paint colors there just in the last couple of weeks!
