A “gift shop” called Buzzy's appears to be operating underneath Bone Appetit (ugh), in the old Your Move Games space. Haven't had a chance to check them out yet, but they advertise glass (pipes, I assume) and accessories. It's about time Davis got a head shop!

The area code on the website is 217 (Illinois) -- strange.

I wish them luck, but several stores of this type have been closed down in Allston by police.

The other seven digits are the same as in your photo, so probably just a stupid error. Maybe the owner used too much of her own product first.

Curious what the ugh factor is regarding Bone Appetit. I saw a poster for it yesterday (had never heard of it before) and was thinking of checking out the store after work...

BUT MAH SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE KITTEH NEEDZ RAW ORGANIC LOCAL LOLCAT CHOW!!!

Actually, if you're feeling glum about gentrification, let your spirits be lifted in the knowledge that Tufts Convenience in Ball Square sells real crack pipes. On the checkout counter. The item called "Love Roses." I doubt they know what the glass tubes with the tiny faux roses inside actually are.

i don't know, i think shops like this are kind of fun. a friend used to work at polkadog and when i had dogs we went there all the time. the prices on toys/clothes/etc are OUTRAGEOUS, hilariously so, but the food stuff was great, and you can't buy that stuff at petco or whatever. it was great that they carried dog food i could previously only order online.

dog treats are easy enough to make yourself at home, but if you don't feel like it, or are a complete ass in the kitchen, hey.

Wait...that's really what they do? Seriously?

No wonder they're selling bongs in the basement.

They don't actually seem to even sell dog treats - just the super-expensive dog food, which they don't actually seem to keep in stock. Instead I guess the model is that they're a physical store where you pick up an online order.. I don't expect them or the head shop to last very long.

Personally, I'd much rather have a pet shop in Davis Square than a head shop. I mean, we already have Store 24.

. . I'm meh on the head shop but think Bone Appetit sounds cute and fun. But, I'm a dog-loving non-smoking non-hipster who appreciates what gentrification does for my property's value, so it's probably all in the perspective.

Now you have to go to Kelly's Roast Beef on Revere Beach instead, much less convenient. Well, I guess you can go to their location in Medford, but the experience is just not the same... and FWIW, I don't think Kelly's roast beef is all that great, although their lobster rolls are pretty fantastic.

I'm still shocked it ended up being considered a good place to eat before it went away. It used to be considered pretty much of a pit.

I stopped into Bone Appetit and checked out Buzzy's around Christmas. The head shop is very cute - it's in the old Your Move Games back office, and has been nicely renovated, painted, and cleaned up. It's selling some standard glass pipes/bongs as well as some very high end smoking paraphernalia -- such as a glass pipe shaped like a skeleton riding a flaming motorcycle. Some of their high-end pipes go for $600 and up.

A shop I occasionally visited in Atlanta had a sign up that said "If you cannot learn to say 'water pipe' you will be escorted from the premises."
