that's odd, considering that this is supposed to be a pretty insignificant storm (5" or so)

I was just looking at the Somerville site, and they say they declare a snow emergency for any predicted accumulation over four inches.

We'll see if Somerville follows suit. The National Weather Service just issued a Winter Storm Warning (http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=MAZ014&warncounty=MAC017&firewxzone=MAZ014&local_place1=Somerville+MA&product1=Winter+Storm+Warning), for what it's worth.

honestly

if it got enough cars off the streets to properly plow, I'd be all for it.

I wouldn't mind re-instituting street cleaning for a week just so they could really clear out the mountains of snow that can't be safely removed while the cars are there. (But only if they then *actually* removed the snow from the street, and plowing it all back into our driveways SO doesn't count.)

totally off-topic

My daughter was looking over my shoulder as I was reading this thread and your bunny avatar caught her eye (mine too.) What's the backstory? :-)

i don't have a clue where they'd all park in the meantime, but god that would be worth it. it's terrible here (cambridgeport).

I heard up to 10 inches! I'll have to double check.

Somerville joins the fray!
