My googling hasn't come up with a solution to dispose of some cooking oil, other than throw it in the trash.  I know it can be converted to biodiesel.  Know of anyone local doing this that would take small quantities of oil to recycle?

The smallest quantity that biodiesel firms pick up is 55 gallons. How long does it take you to generate 55 gallons of cooking oil?

I see that some municipalities (in Georgia, Alabama, and Alaska and nowhere else as far as I can Google it) are inaugurating regular home pickup for waste vegetable oil recycling. Interesting. Maybe in a few years it will catch on more widely?

How much gas does it take for the truck to drive to your house to pick up a few quarts of oil?

The municipalities that do it give households a special container that they put out with the rest of their recycling for collection.
