Dinner Meet-Up At SoundBites?

Last night as my partner and I were once again having dinner in an almost empty SoundBites, we were saying how it might be fun to have a DS_LJ dinner & drinks meet-up there. I can't recall if we've ever had a sit-down meal meet-up, but it could possibility be a fun one-time variation and folks could talk more easily since it's quiet. And there's certainly space. I met the new (or maybe just new to me, I'm not sure) dinner host last night and he was incredibly nice.

I don't have a date in mind. We just thought it would be good to bounce the idea off the comm to see if there's interest. What do you think, meet-uppers?

FWIW, I like the dinner food there. I usually get pasta and my partner usually gets meat, and neither of us has ever been unhappy with our meal.

they're the place I wanted to do the Glee nights at, but they were very vague about them. Part of that was me wanting to get them more evening business, which I think they need.

He probably won't be there. But in case he is working that night, I get along really well with him and I would talk to him before we go. He won't be mean to people who are giving him almost the only business he'll get that night.

There's tons of back story to Sound Bites. Check out Yelp (or even DSLJ). Bottom line, the staff and owner have a reputation for being rude (and engaging their neighbors in fistfights). I don't think it's anything personal concerning smammy

oh no, i didn't think it was anything personal regarding them, just curious. i do think i recall reading about this now but must have forgotten or glazed over it ever involving patrons. (not that the other stuff would be okay in that case, but you know.)

If you want to try some of their chow for only the price of a drink, they are having a free buffet on Super Bowl Sunday, starting at 5 pm. Yassir will probably be there, but he won't bug you to buy more drinks or leave because you aren't watching the game.
