Hi,

I'm looking for ghost peppers--does anyone know a store in the area which carries them?  They can be fresh, frozen, dried, or in extract form.  I want to use them in a recipe in a day or two, so I don't have time to order on the internet--or I don't want to pay for FedEx.

Thanks,

Christina's in Inman has them at least dried, as of Sunday afternoon.

Christina's has two sides. One door is an ice cream shop and next to it is the spice shop.

Shockingly, I have some extras. You're welcome to a few.

Maybe I should wander around Davis Square, handing them out to people.

I had a few, but they vanished - harharhar! Sorry, I saw them at Christina's recently as well. :)

I also have a few if the guy above me doesn't work out. I moved all the way out to Revere, though so it'll be a pain for you!

Ooooh! Thanks for the article. So, does it add any flavor? Just heat, I presume?

I'm not a hot pepper fan. It probably depends on your heat tolerance. I don't know how hot these things are, but I do know that people with a high heat tolerance can, in fact, taste the flavor in something that to me would only taste like burning. XD

It tastes like a very hot pepper (a little brighter than a Scotch bonnet pepper). The "ghost" business is just a mistranslation.

Ah, someone mentioned Christina's. In that neighborhood, I was also going to mention going begging at the East Coast Grill kitchen, as they've been using them from time to time.
