I am hoping to buy some Iggy's bagels for the weekend - who around Davis Square habitually carries them? I see them from time to time, but I'm not sure who carries them consistently.

Extra bonus for a place I can get them fresh in the morning. (Without hauling over by Fresh Pond to the big mothership.)

I think that Dave's Fresh Pasta has Iggy's bagels. I know that they have other Iggy's breads.

Also, depending on your definition of "near" the Whole Foods on Rte 16 in Medford has them. But at that point, you might as well go to Alewife, and to Fresh Pond...

Their website has a list of stores selling their bread. But I can't figure out how to link to the specific page with that list. Click on 'STORES' and then on 'Where else can You get the bread?'

True Grounds in Ball Square had them reliably.

True Grounds gets their bagels from Bagel Land in Winchester. I asked, a few weeks ago. I didn't notice a difference between them and Iggy's, and at one point in the past their bagels were Iggy's. (None of them are, of course, fresh New York Bagels, but they pass my "good enough" bar, anyway.)

They charge about what Dave's charges for fresh Iggy's, even though they're mostly selling them to eat-in/take-out customers who want one already spread with creamcheese and whatnot. Since they're a lot closer to my house, I do go to True Grounds sometimes to bring home a small bag of fresh bagels to eat at home.

Yes, of course. The Upper West Side is the place to go for all your bagel needs. Just like, as previously noted (http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/2056814.html?thread=24146542#t24146542), the closest poutine to Davis is in Saint-Pierre-de-Véronne-à-Pike-River :-)

Parcooked H&H are available from Magnificent Muffin (these never bake well) in Teele and Bagels by US in Arlington (these come out a little better).

But they aren't fresh Absolute Bagels.

Pemberton Farms has Iggy's bagels, and other nice breads too. They're on the corner of Day st. and Mass Ave. The bagels are fresh every morning, stocked around 8 am if I recall correctly. $0.70 per bagel.

Are Iggys bagels good? I didn't even know they made them, shame on me. I usually get Brueggers, but occasionally trek all the way to Kupels in Brookline who have the best in Boston in my opinion.

I like Iggy's much better than Brueggers. They're at Fresh Pond Whole Foods, Pembertons and a few other places people have mentioned.
Kupels in Brookline, before Coolidge Corner on Harvard Street, is the best around here though.

For what it's worth, I think the best bagels in Massachusetts -- actually the best bagels I've had anywhere, including New York -- are at Perfectos (http://www.perfectoscaffe.com/). Their Andover, Tewksbury, and Peabody locations are all about a half-hour away, unfortunately :(
