Poly Speed Dating is coming to Boston, brought to you by three Davis-Squarians! This event originated in San Francisco as a way to make speed dating work for those of us whose identities and lives are a little more complicated than most speed dating events can handle. ;-) Our algorithm allows you to date as an individual or group, and to specify your gender(s) and the gender(s) of the people you're looking to meet.

Our first event will be April 26 at The Friendly Toast in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Registration is $12 in advance, or $15 at the door, and includes snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (we also have some scholarship spots available, so please contact us if the fee is an issue for you!). further comment: the page doesn't mention the $12 fee until you get to a page that cheerfully tells you to 'pay now!'. I don't mind the fee (can't afford it, but don't mind it), but seriously, that shouldn't be on the last page after everything has been mentioned, and should be in this post.

(the FAQ mentions you'll be refunded half your fee if you cancel in time, but that's the first mention of the fee on it. Might want to add that before you get into refunding it.)

With response to the FAQ:
"What if I have mobility issues?"

It would be nice if you had some more detail on the accessibility of the location (ramps or not, cobblestones/uneven surfaces, elevators or not, etc.). There are also other disabilities that might require some level of accommodation (blind/visually impaired, for instance).

Very silly issue: How about age checking? I can see a very uncomfortable situation in which a couple really digs...a 17 year old girl who happens to look 21. I'm sure the bar will check but what about the event?

We ask people for their age when they register, and we also ask them the age range of the people they're looking for, so if the couple specified "18-30", for instance, they wouldn't be matched with the 17-year-old.
