Found: Pit Bull type dog

A Pit Bull type dog was found in the Summer/Cedar St area on 4/8/11.

Please contact Somerville Animal Control if you or someone you know is missing a Pit type dog.

It's not my dog, but I am curious what counts as proof of ownership, registration papers?

i imagine you could probably bring current vet records as well, or just bring an ID if they have a microchip, etc.

Proof of ownership could consist of a copy of the dog's license, paperwork from a vet's office and in some cases, a picture of the animal. Sometimes we may ask for a valid picture ID.
