No Fee Realty Agency?

I have a friend  looking for a one bed in the Davis/Porter area. A while back, I believe someone mentioned a realtor who had found them a number of no-fee (or probably, owner paid the fee) apartments. I checked the tags, and no luck. Does anyone remember? General recommendations for  good realty agencies in the Somerville area are also welcome!

I am a landlord so I don't have a renters perspective but I've always found that Realtors will take a fee from whoever will pay it. Who pays and how much depends on the market and the property. When rentals are slow, the owners pay more. When the market is tight, the renters do. Sometimes they use a split to help close a deal or if the place or market is iffy.I don't know if a Realtor would simply say that they always make the owner pay the fee since this gives them no flexibility.

Craigslist allows you to filter to see no-fee apartments if your friend wants to DIY.

I have worked with Maven Realty and Apartment Rental Experts. I found them to be professional and they brought qualified applicants who I would like to rent to. But again, this is from a LL POV.

I don't know about realtors but I did not pay a fee, maybe because I dealt directly with the landlord. I rent from Investments Limited and have found them good - easy application process, responsive if something comes up and they maintain the property well. The prior tenant rented this place for five years and spoke highly of them as a landlord. They have a ton of properties, I don't know about Davis specifically but worth checking.
