Yesterday I met the guy who's organizing the TEDx Somerville event in November. It sounds like a really good thing for the city. They're seeking potential speakers through their site: http://tedxsomerville.org/

Wow this sounds fabulous! I had no idea it was being planned.

Any idea where they plan to hold it? Somerville Theatre, the Armory, Tufts?

The Armory would be perfect. They want a lot of wall space, which the Somerville Theater doesn't really have. But they're still looking at all the possible venues.

TEDs and TEDx's usually have a theme. Cambridge's TEDx was food-themed, for example. I have had two potential speakers ask me what the theme was ... so if you have the organizer's info, can you push that back to him as an important question? Or are they working on picking a theme now?

Hi,

Great to hear about the interest in the event. We're in the planning stages and a theme may emerge... or not. Themes are not a requirement though many TEDx events have one as vibrantabyss mentioned about Cambridge's event.

At this point, if you know someone who has an idea worth spreading, please suggest them at out site and we'll do the rest.
