Anyone know the best place in the area to sell of a bunch of CD's?  Willing to travel, but probably not to the downtown Boston shops.

I'd appreciate any comments WRT your experience with prices, hassle factor, etc.

Options I've found are:

Newbury Comics
Pawn shop in Davis (forgot the name!)
Planet Records (Harvard Sq)
various online places like secondspin.com or cashforcds.com

Thanks!

It's where CD Spins used to be. I think they're calling it a consignment shop, but it's a pawn shop.

that's called La Chic Boutique (one of the worst-designed web pages evah), but can you pawn things there? This page says no.

It's not a badly designed web page, it's retro!

It's a pawn shop. They just can't say it is...

If it is indeed true that they routinely make loans that are collateralized by personal property and yet they are not licensed as a pawn shop, I'm sure that both the city and the AG's office would be very interested to hear about that.

"We buy gold and sell stuff on consignment" stores are not actually pawn shops, which are highly regulated. If this store is running a pawn shop without the appropriate licensing and oversight, someone should drop a dime on them, because the pawn industry is one of the cases where licensing and oversight is preponderantly to the benefit of customers rather than operators.

Try Rhythm and Muse on Centre Street in JP.

They were closed for months for renovations, recently re-opened with a nice tapas bar in the front. I do not know the exact address but it is across the street from the Alchemist.
