Can someone recommend a local tailor? I took my favorite skirt to Dudley Dry Cleaners on Mass. Ave. for hemming. Now I need a good tailor to repair the damage.

Davis Square, Porter Square, or Harvard Square (or anywhere on the Red Line) are all convenient. Thanks!

Chris Fine Tailoring (http://anaffordablewardrobe.blogspot.com/2009/12/my-tailor.html) near Teele Square, perhaps?

Second -- for things like hems, I really like this place. They're also my dry cleaners. For more complicated stuff, I go to Jack the Tailor just north of Porter on Mass Ave.

Seconded. I just dropped off my wedding dress for hemming there this morning!

Thirded. They've hemed or repaired 5-6 pairs of jeans or pants for me and I've been satisfied with their work.

Jack's right near the porter post office--though he's a bit overpriced.

I like Jack's. Another part of the price is spending ten minutes catching up with him, but he's so pleasant it's no burden at all.

Again - Jack's tailoring & dry cleaning by Porter - he's awesome.

Elegant tailors between Porter and Harvard on Mass Ave. She can fix ANYthing. She altered my wedding dress!

Rizzo in Harvard Square is very good (he's a bespoke tailor) too, though more expensive than a dry cleaners' tailor.

I recently had great tailoring service from Skyline Drycleaners in Ball Square.

I used the above-mentioned Elegant Tailors in October and they were excellent. Just another rec.

Elegant Tailor on Mass Ave by Cambridge Common restaurant. Have been using them or years and they clean down quilts, shearling coats, etc.
