Love a Parade - this Sunday
May. 26th, 2011 01:33 pmSomerville's annual Memorial Day parade kicks off Sunday at 1 pm at City Hall, proceeding down Highland Ave to Davis Square, up Holland Street to Teele Square, then west on Broadway to the Veterans' Cemetery behind Johnnie's Foodmaster.
From the city press release: "The parade will include 22 marching bands, along with a wide range of community and school groups, specialty unit from the Aleppo Shriners, and local veterans', fire, and police outfits from surrounding cities and towns."
If you live along the parade route, or on any of the side streets near the parade start or end, please take note of the parking restrictions. I have no idea how the MBTA plans to re-route the 87, 88, and 89 buses.
