Free Tropical Fish - Freshwater

Hello all,

We have about 8 platies that need new homes: they are white/red with black speckles, and some of them have an iridescent/silvery tint. A couple of them may be Mom-fish (judging by size and gender), and we also have a few younger, smaller fish. We have a 20 gallon tank where the platies continue to breed, and need to move some out before they over-populate.

Please write to me if you're interested in picking some up; we're located near Brooks in Davis Square, and are normally around on weeknights after 6:30pm.

sweet! which day this weekend is good for you? we may not be around saturday, but friday evening and sunday afternoon should be good. if you know how many you want (and if you want mom and/or baby fish), i can hold them aside for you.

i'm psyched about finding decent pet shops in the area. the best i know of is out in framingham, and they have great fish but it's just so far away.

the pet shop on elm st freaks me out and i'm surprised to see anything alive in there (last time i went in, this dude was behind the counter smoking - this was after the smoking ban.)

bummer about your tank accident! 30 gallon is a such a nice size. i'd certainly like to help you restock it.

Saturday is best for me, but I am close to you (I live right in porter), so I could come by on Friday evening after 6 (before 7).

I'm sad about Boston Tropical! And Gill's is gone too! :( The manager of Gill's works at this place in Dorcester now, which is pretty ok (I forget its name).

I also have a 55-gallon and had an oscar for 5 years until he just grew too damn big for the tank--I gave him to Boston Tropical (it was funny, he was so much bigger than the rest of the oscars in the tank). I remember going into the Elm St. place and just walking right out, ick.

Oh, and any # and any variety of the fish you want to give is just fine--I'd prefer not to get all the ugliest ones, but whichever.

they all share similar colors, 'cause they've probably all bred with each other's grandparents by now. :)

yup! they have loads of fish there. i'd frequent it more if i weren't carless and am rather dependent on public transportation.

busy! job/internship/school all at once. plus i'm finally accumulating enough friends to have somewhat of a social life in the boston area, so that's interesting. :)
