Okay, so my easy T ride home from the airport just became very interesting - the red line was down between Central and Broadway. Both directions were closed. Ended up going to Lechemere to catch the 88. yuck.

Anyone know what happened?

There was a fire near Broadway that killed the power line that runs from Broadway to Central. I was waiting for the Red Line at Downtown Crossing for around 45 minutes until someone came downstairs and said "Uh, they're saying that they're running shuttle buses at Park Street." Said someone was not a T employee at all, just some random guy. Eventually when there were 100, 150 of us standing outside Park Street getting rained on, did a T official show up and inform us of what happened.

I ended up doing the same Lechmere-to-88 thing, though. No way was I gonna cram into a bus packed with a zillion other wet, grumpy people to go only to Central.

Actually they told us the fire was at Charles. It took me an hour and a half to go from Porter to Broadway.

They kicked us off at Central, bused us to Park, and then the T was fine. This was about midnight last night.

I was not a happy lil camper.

Wow, what time was did all of this happen? We were at Kendall around 9:45 or 10:00 and we had to wait but no more than usual for that time of night.

That totally sucks that no official came to explain the situation and it is not like any of the PA systems work well.

interesting--one of the reasons they got all bent out of shape about subway musicians and tried to ban them was because "we need the PA system to work in case when we need to make announcements."
so much for that.
