source for appliance parts?
Jun. 4th, 2011 10:04 pmJust after 5PM, the selector knob on our dryer fell off and the inner housing cracked. The dryer will not allow us to turn the selector with fingers or a wrench - must be an interlock somewhere.
We called Gray's Appliance in Melrose (where we had originally purchased the dryer) but they close at 5PM. Housemate took her laundry-in-process to a nearby laundromat, but this is not an option for me (I have a horrible head cold and difficulty dealing with noise right now, for one thing...)
If you know of any place in Medford/Somerville/et al that might carry a selector knob for a Frigidaire dryer, please let me know?

Date: 2011-06-05 02:58 am (UTC)However, I had a washer once (recently) where the selector knob broke, and what happened was the entire TIMER was broken. Those things can cost more than a whole washer to replace, if they are replacable at all. Hope it's just a broken knob and not the timer. You might want to look up the serial number and model number online (google is wonderful) to see if replacement parts are gettable.
