Will Masala ever open?

Anyone know what is up with Masala in Teele Square. They have been "coming soon" for at least 6 months.

My husband and I walk by there all the time...he said he thinks it must be permit issues because the other place was there so long maybe a lot needs to be brought up to newer codes. I never see anyone going in or out to ask.

Wouldn't surprise me. I know some other Somerville restaurant owners who had to go through hell and back for all their permits. They gave me the impression it's also harder if you don't already know the folks signing the forms, but I don't know if that's really true.

I've been waiting for Masala to open, too, but Bourbon Coffee in Porter has had its "opening soon!" signs up for much longer.

The good news is I just noticed yesterday that it looks like work has finally resumed on Bourbon Coffee.
