My friend Rebekah Gewirtz is running for Somerville ward 6 alderman - that's the ward Davis Square is in, and it stretches a little past Willow Street to the east. Rebekah co-founded Progressive Democrats of Somerville and served as their chair for the first two years. Before that, she was Somerville coordinator for the Robert Reich for Governor campaign.
Elections for board of aldermen are this year, November 2005. If you don't know which ward you live in, you can look up your address at wheredoivotema.com.
If you want to support Rebekah, she's having a campaign kick-off this evening 7-9pm at Orleans on Holland Street, just past Johnny D's. I'll be there, so if you come, you could find me and introduce yourself :)
