I have jury duty tomorrow at the Malden District Court. does anyone know if you can bring your laptop in? (I couldn't find the answer on their website, and I think they just closed a few minutes ago because I tried calling and got no answer.) thanks!

I have never been to the Malden court but I would strongly doubt they'd be allowed. You can't even bring a cell phone to Somerville.

When I did jury duty in Illinois, we were allowed laptops and such in the jury pen while we waited to be selected for a specific case.

Worst case, they tell you you can't use it?

I'd think worst case, they wouldn't let you bring it in at all. I went to a courthouse to get a copy of my birth certificate once (actually in IL as well) and I had to leave my cell phone in the car because it had a camera.

I served in Woburn last year and they allowed mobile phones and laptops in the waiting area. You could carry them into the courtroom but not use them there.

I was on jury duty in Boston last year, and phones and laptops were both allowed in.
