I meant I don't need anything for it. I'm looking for a recycling place... I don't want to through it away if there is a way to recycle some parts of it. It is the IBM 486 - pretty old... was working... did not check for a couple of years.

CommuniTech (http://web.mit.edu/mitpsc/programs/comtech/) CommuniTech is an initiative at MIT that attempts to bridge the Digital Divide -- the perceived gap between those who have access to the latest information technologies and those who do not. When it began, CommuniTech's main focus was gathering old computers, refurbishing them, and giving them to people without access to computers. With that piece in place, CommuniTech found their job only half finished. To truly connect and empower people through technology they found that simply giving people computers was not enough. They had to make people feel comfortable using their new computers as well. Now CommuniTech seeks to bridge the Digital Divide through two angles: UCF (MIT Used Computer Factory), and FACT (Families Accessing Computer Technlogy).
UCF bridges the Digital Divide by refurbishing old computers that are donated from throughout the Boston and Cambridge area and giving them to needy families. In addition to helping the community, volunteers acquire valuable knowledge about the inner workings of computers.
