NSTAR certified mail

Did anyone else receive a certified mail notice from NSTAR?    Requires a signature in person.  I'm sure it is something of the nature "we are doing work in your area"  blah blah and I don't want to waste my time going to the post office which is of course only open during the times that I have to work.   I wish they would just mail a normal letter.

Anyway just wanted to see anyone actually got the letter and read it and could share the contents.

The last time I got one of those it was because they needed to do a gas meter inspection and I had been ignoring their phone calls.

If it's the same one that we got, they are trying to come out to inspect your gas lines and they need to schedule an appointment. If you do not call to schedule, they can shut off your gas until you do.

Mine came certified mail. It was an inspect your gas lines letter as well.

Yes, apparently they tried to get in touch with us other ways first, but when we didn't call when they stuck something to the door, we got a letter by certified mail.

All my contact with NStar, including about meter inspection/replacement on my property, has been by regular mail.

Same with me. NStar sent me regular-mail notices for a least a year about a mandatory gas meter replacement. I ignored all of these, and finally the apartment management company scheduled a mass meter replacement for all units in the building (so we wouldn't have to stay home for it).

Picked up the letter, it was an inspection letter which is annoying because 1) I haven't gotten one of those recently 2) I had the meter replaced a year and a half ago. I believe this is the second time they've forgotten they recently replaced my meter.

Oh by the way when they replace your meter, the new one won't be new, which makes me wonder, what is the point of them spending man hours and me forgoing wages to miss work for these stupid appointments? Also in one case their "new" meter didn't work and they had to come back a second time.

OK, I guess it is a nice weekend, I'll stop complaining about NSTAR now.
