Calling all runners/walkers! The Somerville Homeless Coalition 5K Road Race is next month, Oct. 1st in Davis Square.



Delicious brunch after the race provided by Davis Square restaurants, awards ceremony, music by HONK!.
$25 gets you a bib, or raise $100 and run for free. $250 or more in fundraising gets you a free runner's hat.

that's HONK Festival day. Hope the two events can sort of stay out of each others' way.

yay fun! i have been looking for a 5k to do, since i couldn't do the memphis BBQ one (and it got rained out anyways).

The Pig Pickin' wasn't a total washout, the ominous clouds cleared right before we get everything set-up. You'll have to come next year. :) Glad you'll make the Road Race, it's a lot of fun and yummy food afterwars makes it even better.

Yeah, Memphis 5K got moved to 10/16.

Oh, I see the Memphis 5K! I for some reason thought you were talking about our Annual Pig Picking event that was last month. My fault!

Does it make me a bad person that every time I see the name of that race, I read "Homeless Race"? Probably not what the advocacy group has in mind...

Actually, we'll have clients of ours who run with our non-profit partner Back On My Feet Boston, Team Somerville (http://bit.ly/nAtDOz). They're been working up to it, should be a great race!
