If you are a women living in Somerville, please click the below link to access the on-line version of the 2005 Somerville Women's Needs Survey from The Somerville Commission for Women.

The survey is very brief and should take you less than 5 minutes to complete.

The Somerville Commission for Women (SCW) is in the process of determining how to best provide service to the women of Somerville. To assist in this process, the SCW is conducting a data collection and needs assessment research project with the cooperation of two graduate school interns from The Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy/ UMass Boston. Additionally, the SCW is leading the coalition of organizations in the city to cooperate with data collection and needs assessment including CAAS, Groundwork Somerville, Cambridge Health Alliance, and Shape Up Somerville.


The Status of Women project is aimed to collect the picture of who are the women in Somerville, what are the services they are using, where is there a lack of services, and what projects the Commission for Women should take on with partnerships from the community to best meet the needs of the Somerville women.

fwiw, there was no space for "other," and i didn't feel particularly inspired by any of the suggestions for things that would make my (or my family's) life better.

The paper form of this survey did allow for additional comments. The online version didn't allow this due to technical issues out of the SCW control.
