Hello!
I'm very, very excited, because I just got an apartment about two blocks away from Davis Square. My boyfriend and I are moving there in June, because we are starting Tufts graduate program in the fall.
I basically wanted to take a survey of sorts and see what everyone's favorite thing to do in Davis Sqaure is.

Martsa, the Tibetian restaurant, has really yummy food at a reasonable price. Getting ice cream from JP Licks (*sigh*--I miss Denise's) and sitting out at a table in the square to eat and talk to all the people you find you know who pass by. Especially on a summer night. Art Beat (June sometime.) Open Studios (next weekend!!!!)

And MacIntyre and Moore, the used bookstore, is pure crack. Open to 11pm every night, with more bookshelf space than I'll ever have, they have a huge selection of non-fiction and academic books at really good prices. Crack, I tell you. Stay away. (The fewer people to compete with me over those things I want...) They do philosophy discussion evenings once a month.

I also miss that JP fired (or so I'm told) Denise's employees. And their ice cream cakes are not as good. I think JP is trying to emulate Starbucks, but for ice cream, and it makes me suspicious of them.
