Beech Street in Cambridge will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, October 26 and 27, for repaving.
This information comes from an electric variable message sign at Beech and Orchard, and from temporary cardboard No Parking signs on the street. The cardboard signs say 7 am to 5 pm only, but the electric sign doesn't mention hours.
(The electric sign also says "WEATHER PERMITTED". Surely they mean PERMITTING? The weather forecast for those two days is not promising, so this could well be postponed)
As someone who regularly bikes on this road, I'll be thrilled to see it repaved. It is boneshatteringly awful right now.

I was thinking one other street to add to the general to-do list is the stretch of Meacham from the intersection with Buena Vista to Dover. It's atrocious, especially so close to the bike path. But less of a danger, since it can usually be taken very slowly due to low traffic.
