The Somerville one is Toys for Local Children.

St. James Church (on Mass. Ave and Beech St.) does one, but their collection was last Sunday...Next year...(they're a very liberal, inclusive, service oriented group. I'm not a member--I'm not even Christian--and I find them welcoming and their charity work honest and effective.)

Action for Boston Community Development has a bunch of drop-off sites, including one on Elm Street: http://bostonabcd.org/holiday-toy-drive.aspx

The highland branch of the East Cambridge Savings Bank has a collection box for the "Somerville Housing Authority 9th Annual Toy Drive".

ECSB is also collecting for Toys for Local Children, so it looks like you can contribute to two different toy drives at that bank branch.

We have donated to Child's Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) several times, and probably will again this year. It looks like Children's Hospital Boston is the nearest Hospital:

(Deleted my first comment because I am bad at urls.)

I know for a fact that 1st Bn 25th Marines' Remain-Behind Element is doing Toys for Tots.

It looks like all the drop-off events listed on the 25th Marines web page (http://www.marines.mil/unit/marforres/4thMarDiv/25thMar/Pages/25thMarinesToysForTotsProgram.aspx) all seem to be out around or past 495. However, there are toys for tots drop-offs (http://www.mass.gov/eopss/agencies/msp/toys-for-tots.html) at all state police barracks.

West Somerville dental has a box in the lobby, I think they want "unopened, unwrapped."
