according to their Facebook page. They are in the basement below Foundry.

This should be their website but there's no content yet: SaloonDavis.com

(I have no further information. If you go, please report back here in comments)

I didn't know that there WAS a basement there, but it looks like a gorgeous space! any idea how big it is?

So I went tonight & here is my review. Decor is fabulous, but I expected as much since it's the same people that own Foundry. I'd call it a cross between an old cigar bar, jazz bar & train station (totally my opinion). Beer prices in line with the other bars in the square. Menu - not my cup of tea, but I did order fish & chips to check it out. Felt like I was being served glorified Van de Kamps fish sticks. Since it was opening night I will give them a pass on slowness since the bartenders were still learning where everything was located.

I was shocked with it being an opening night that they did not pass free apps. to entice people into ordering food. I noticed most people seemed to have a drink and leave. Oh, also, there is no real sign on the door so a little hard to find. I walked into Foundry and asked how to get there and then had to ask the guy at the door if I was in the right place.

Overall, I would go back for drinks, but not food. Oh, and it still smells like paint, so if you are allergic or have asthma I'd wait a few more weeks cause there is really no way for them to air it out down there with no windows.

Thanks for the review! I have pretty mediocre expectations for this place based on Foundry. I expect that the drinks will be pretty expensive, in order to cover the cost of all that lovely furniture. I will probably stick to the Bones, or Orleans for a more upscale situation.

I went opening night and enjoyed it. Menu drinks were not quite as good as I hoped, but the house punch was delicious, the service was very friendly and attentive, and the whiskey list is great. Nice atmosphere, though it had a pretty bad new place smell :).

Vegetarians be warned that the "pork belly whiskey" actually *does* have animal product in it; that's not just a fun name. Great addition to Davis IMHO.
