The Boston Circus Guild (BCG) is a rapidly growing organization, based in Somerville, dedicated to making Boston and New England a worthwhile location for professional performers. Toward that end, we are expanding our Management Committee and the next role on our list, which needs to be filled with utmost urgency, is that of Fundraising Director, whose job is to secure additional funding to enable the continuing work of the BCG. The Fundraising Director will be responsible for all fundraising activity conducted on behalf of the organization. As a member of the Management Committee, they will be expected to attend Committee meetings and report to and collaborate with the team in short and long-term planning for the organization.
Our most crucial need for a Fundraising Director involves the show we are debuting in May 2012 and will tour in the months that follow (summer of 2012). Payment for the Fundraising Director position will come from the budget for this production: in other words, the compensation will be directly tied to successful fundraising for the project.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Management Committee to develop and implement the BCG’s fundraising & development strategy
- Actively work with the management staff to develop and implement a comprehensive development and fundraising strategy to include private or government grants, corporate sponsorship, investors or grassroots funding/crowd sourcing (e.g., Kickstarter)
- Specifically develop and oversee the fundraising plan in support of the BCG’s 2012 original production and touring show
- Have primary responsibility for development and execution of all proposals; write and archive all proposals and correspondences in regards to fundraising and development
- Oversee research funding sources and trends and help position the BCG ahead of major funding changes or trends
- Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program
- Recruit, develop, and manage a development team as necessary
