Hello Everyone!  We just moved to Davis on Thursday and I'm SO happy to finally be living here.  Wondering if anyone has suggestions about the best local spot to buy a juicer and/or Crock Pot?  Target has both, but I'd like to support either a local business or buy from someone wanting to get rid of either.  Thanks so much!

Seems like something Tags Hardware in Porter Square might sell on their 'upstairs' floor. Give them a call and ask.

Tags (yes, the hardware store in the strip mall) has more than just hardware. Juicers, definitely. Crock-pots, definitely. Also shelving, decor, housewares, hardwares, ... you name it. Sign up for their rewards program. If you've just moved to the neighborhood, you'll find yourself there a lot.

Thirding Tags. They definitely have both; they're upstairs towards the back on the right. (I end up at Tags a lot for various things.)

To further elaborate on this, Tags is a one-stop-shop for homewares. The main floor contains the same sorts of items as a Bed Bath and Beyond (and they aren't cheapo knockoffs either; my spouse had to drag me away from the Le Creuset display), while the basement supplies all the same sorts of items you'd find at an Ace Hardware.

It's a great little store, I love it!

There's a local freecycle group - if you don't mind used you could post your desires there and see if you get lucky, especially with the slow cooker.

I was recommended China Fair by a friend. It's within walking distance of Davis and I got the 5gal pot I needed for $20. They seemed like the kind of place where you would find cheap kitchen appliances, it might be worth checking them out.

China Fair is hit or miss, but if they happen to have exactly what you need it will be cheap and you will be glad to have checked there! It's much more likely to have accessories, cookware, and gadgets than small appliances, though.

I second what pekmez says. I was there this Monday, and they had lots of interesting things this week.

On the downside, Tags pretty much charges "list price" on all items (a cast iron pan I got on amazon for $12 was 25 at Tags--same brand). I generally use the shop more for unique items, general hardware, and to refill my sodastream cartridges :) They do offer a small discount if you have a student ID.

I have a crock pot I'm trying to get rid of. It's not huge, and had it for a long time without using it, but it should still work. I'm not even trying to sell it. If you want it, you just have to come get it. PM me if you're interested.
