Question for Moderators about posting

Hey Moderators, I wanted to check in about a post before I made it, as I don't want to use the forum inappropriately. A friend of mine, who lived in Davis Square for numerous years, and is more recently in Union Square, is a director and is almost finished with the documentary he has been working on for 4 years. He is out of funding, though, and has set up a kickstarter.com page to help come up with the last bit of money. I was hoping to post about it here to try to generate more interest and support, but don't want to spam the boards.... I will comply with whatever I am told. :)

Generally speaking I'd say one advertisement isn't spam. Advertisements every week may be. Advertisements rather more often than that certainly are.

Also we have the davis_meta community for questions like this, plus a mailing list on the community info page that reaches all of us.

Note that we are very different people and may have different opinions. This is just one.

In addition, I'll suggest that your friend post to the Somerville Arts Council mailing list.

Oh, thank you, i wasn't aware that I could use Davis_meta like that. (I've only been vaguely aware of its existence). I will definitely look there (or the email list) if i have a question again. :)

Just to be PURELY pedantic, davis_square LJ is not the correct place to ask questions about what is ok to post on davis_square LJ.

We have davis_meta for this purpose.
