Recommendations for real estate lawyers?
Jan. 7th, 2012 11:38 pmI posted a comment related to an earlier posting I made about an issue I'm having with my landlord, but I thought I might have a better chance getting some recommendations with an entirely new post (plus maybe this might be more beneficial to other people with similar issues).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a real estate lawyer, preferably one who deals with resolving landlord / tenant disputes? I've looked a little bit online, but it would be great to get a more personal recommendation. It would be nice if they were in the Somerville / Cambridge area.
Thanks!

Date: 2012-01-07 12:06 pm (UTC)I have experience dealing with Joe both as a client and a landlord. As a landlord, he was an advocate for his clients without being an enemy of the other party (me). He wanted his clients made good, (which we did), but could have 'gone for the throat' in a number of ways, and did not. As a client likewise-I wanted to be made whole from a transaction wherein the other party held a significant amount of my money, and was unable to complete the transaction, but also wished to attach a bunch of conditions to returning my money. (Well, to start they didn't want to admit their contract required them to give it back. Once we got past that, they wanted conditions). Joe patiently prevailed upon them to give up the conditions and the money. His prices are reasonable and transparent.
