long shot: missing wedding band in ball square

Maybe if I post all the long shot places it might be it'll turn up on the next search in a corner of the front hall having slipped off when I took of my coat.

but if you happen to find a very plain & fairly small gold wedding band on the sidewalk around True Grounds or the book shop across the street (places in which gloves and coffee cups and pockets were maneuvered when I got coffee and caught the bus today), think of the sentimental value rather than the weight of the metal in it and let me know. My hands shrunk, it's winter, and getting it made smaller was on my todo list this month. Alas, too late.

is it inside a coat sleeve? a glove? perhaps a pocket if you reached in and grabbed something?

my coat is always eating whatever i have loose on my wrist (bands), by not rings?

shame it's not a lawn, metal detectors ARE effective ;>

Yeah. I wasn't inside any of those but True Grounds, but will definitely stop off in all of those places tomorrow. (Also, will call the T hotline.)

So far my posting efforts have not turned it up inside a glove or coat sleeve or backpack or sack of potatoes or laundry basket. gljiva (age 6) wants to know if this means her mother isn't married to her father anymore. Sigh.

No. It's a plain gold band with no engraving, small enough to fit a woman with small hands, but not small enough to stay on those hands now that they've shrunk a bit. =P

Oh, wow, that is kinda heartbreaking, though also makes me wonder if I had that level of understanding of a wedding band when I was that age. DD says he thinks he did, but points out his parents were divorced when he was six, whereas my parents' marriage lasted til death. I feel pretty certain I wouldn't have thought to ask that question, anyway.

The conversation went from that, to her wishing we would "get married to each other again", to me suggesting that we could say some wedding vows again to each other when we either find the ring or acquire a replacement, to her saying that we should have gotten married after she came on the scene so she could be there, because it's not fair to get married before your kids get to be guests at your wedding!

I love kids. As exhausting as they are, every time I turn around, they find a new way to crack me up.

(Our two actually got to be in our wedding... but I'm a step-dad, so I kind of cheated :))

(Weird story: dropped my wedding ring in the house last fall, it apparently fell down a crack in the floorboards, we gave it up for lost... and then it appeared just outside our driveway after snowmelt. It's made to fit with the engagement ring, so it's very distinctive. Hopefully yours will be found but in much less time.)
