Cambridge-Somerville for Change, in conjunction with the Obama campaign, is holding a State of the Union Watch Party at Precinct in Union Square next Tuesday night.

We're encouraging any politically-minded folks, particularly likely-or-probable-Obama-supporters, to come, socialize and watch the fourth State of the Union address from President Obama.
This is likely to be one of the key events in the 2012 campaign and we hope to encourage lots of participation in Somerville.

8:00 PM (speech starts at 9:00 PM)
Tuesday, January 24

Are you generally supportive of the President, but only a little bit political?  Would you rather not go to a campaign office or drive to New Hampshire, but you'd like to get a little bit involved?

This is a low-key, social event and we're encouraging folks to forward the invitation to people who might be interested, but aren't often involved in campaigns.  Or others who are new to the area and could use some help finding a good place for progressive and/or Democratic-Party political activism.
See you on Tuesday!

Okay, so, I know this is Camberville, but there do exist locals who are conservative or Republican, or who simply do not support Mr. Obama's re-election for whatever reason. Could you be more explicit about who is welcome (or not) at your event, and maybe edit the text of your announcement to clarify? (Right now it sounds like you're saying that "politically minded" is synonymous with "supports the Obama campaign," and that is simply not true -- even around Davis.) I would honestly appreciate it. Thanks!

With the clowns on the R side, does Obama really need help to be re-elected? If there was a good liberal alternative to Obama, I, like many others, would be voting for this person. But there isn't.

I'm trying to decide whether to subject DSLJ to the lulz of a pre-primary presidential poll (like we did in 2008 )
