Does no one have CDs anymore? Free shelves!

We are moving, and I put all my old CD shelves out on the curb earlier today, and perhaps I am stuck in the 20th century but I am astonished that no one has taken them yet. It's like I put 8-track shelves out there or something. 4 nice tall CD shelves on the sidewalk at 31 Paulina tonight! Take them before the garbage truck does! One of you must want them.

CD shelves are indeed weird. We have a nice set of wood, finished shelves that I made for my wife on her first birthday we celebrated as a couple 10 years ago. We got rid of all our CDs about five years ago and have had a ton of trouble finding things that fit on the shelves. DVDs didn't work (and now they're gone too), its too shallow for books, etc. We are keeping the shelves out of sentimentality, but I think one day they'll begone. The spacing is just too awkward for other uses.

Why don't DVDs work? They are the same size as CDs.

Boxes for DVDs and Blu Ray discs aren't the same size as CD boxes.

These are excellent shelves! I took one of the skinny ones, not because I have CDs, but because I own copious amounts of knick-knacks. I have found a place for it, and may very well come back for the other two tomorrow morning, if I don't hear of anyone claiming them. Thanks!
