Hello everyone! I'm seeking anyone who would be interested in playing in my dental office's marching band at this year's Pride Parade, happening on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
My start-up office (Smiles By Rosie) will be marching with a few dozen people handing out toothbrushes and floss, and I'm getting a small band together. The musicians will be wearing lab coats and playing marches (mostly Sousa). My office is being built now and I hope to start seeing patients in June.
My dental office is enthusiastically LGBT, kink, and poly-friendly, but do understand that marching with us is a form of marketing for a business. No hard feelings if you'd rather work with a non-profit! I'm also happy to offer a longer description of my office's attitudes towards patient care and the environment I'm hoping to build.
Please note: This is an amateur band! As long as we're playing the same song, within a few measures of each other, and all walking in the same direction, I'll be happy! :)
The commitment would involve several rehearsals beginning in March, probably near Davis. The parade itself is from approximately 11-3 on 6/9.
ALL BAND INSTRUMENTS NEEDED! I unfortunately cannot supply instruments, but I'm happy to reimburse each musician $50 for time and travel. We will be reading from free public domain Sousa marches, which are all available at http://www.bandmusicpdf.org/
If you'd like to join us, please respond here or e-mail me at rosie@smilesbyrosie.com.
Thanks so much in advance! This is going to be FUN!!!!!!!
