Can anyone recommend a great tattoo place in the area? My last two were done in Rhode Island (years ago) and I definitely don't want to go all the way back down there!

I cannot reccomend Redemption tattoo highly enough. Everyone there is really amazing and very patient and will actually *listen* to you. It's just a few minutes away from Davis sq. just google "Redemption tattoo" and it will give you their site.

I go up to NH to Precision Body Arts. Both of the guys there are amazing, as is the piercer.

Fat Ram at Pumpkin did one of mine and he is simply amazing. It's out in JP and with him it's about a 4-6 month wait for an appointment although everyone in his shop is great. Despite their "fame" or prestige or whatever they're all really non-pretentious and awesome.

Three of my other tattoos come from L'il Joe at Broad Street in Bridgewater (much further than you asked) and he had nothing but great things to say about Redemption. I think Claire who used to work at Pumpkin now works at Redemption, she's great with retro/classic stuff (i.e. Sailor Jerry art)
