I'm designing a document for the City of Somerville (the 2012 municipal budget) and they'd like to make it look a little more interesting and show some of the things that the budget goes to support.  The only photos my contact there has are pretty lo-res, and this is going to be a printed piece.  Does anyone here have any good hi-res photos they'd be willing to allow us to use for free (with photo credit, of course)?  I'm thinking of things like pictures of Somerville landmarks, or from events like ArtBeat or SOS.  Thanks!

I take a metric ass-tonne of photos, including of Somerville. I'm lazy and not at home now, but if you see anything here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rda/tags/somerville/ you like, let me know and I might have a large enough version for you I can send later.

I've been doing a monthly photo-roam around Somerville since January. You can see the results (so far) here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mzrowan/tags/somerville/).

There's a Somerville group on flickr where you might be able to find photos & contact the people who took them for permission to use them.

Don't forget that you can filter by license on flickr, possibly allowing you to skip step 2 entirely.

I was going to note this myself! Creative Commons FTW.

These are probably "artier" than you're looking for but who knows! There are more in the series if you like the style.

Take a look through the photo tag for interesting subjects, then contact the posters if you need higher-res versions.

I'll try to come back here later with links to photos from Somerville Bicycle Committee tours.

If you can use pics of my house all dressed up for the holidays, I have a bunch on my computer at home I can dropbox to you tonight.

the PMRP/HOTU (http://www.flickr.com/groups/556807@N20/) Flickr pool has a bunch of CC-licensed photos, some of which may be suitable for print use.

You're welcome! Please let us know what you finally end up using.

Greg Jenkins, Rachel Strutt, and Heather at the Somerville Arts Council should be able to supply you with photos from ArtBeat, Porchfest, ArtsUnion, Illuminations, and other SAC events.

Also try Mimi Graney at Union Square Main Streets for the Union Square Farmer's Market and other Union Square events.

Actually, I was wrong. If anything says "Somerville", it's this group of bikers at Prospect Hill. :)

Do you need the photos soon enough that waiting for this year's SOS to finish would be too late?
