Walking to work this morning, I found a cat dragging a retractable leash near Somerville Ave and Park Ave. Here is said cat: https://twitter.com/#!/rascalmicro/status/195527295828635649/photo/1

If this is your cat, you can get in touch with me by posting here or tweeting at me. The cat is currently at 10 Tyler Street in Somerville.

Why would someone leash a cat?

Some people take cats out for walks.

I think that's a Savannah - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savannah_(cat) - a domestic/serval hybrid. They're apparently very dog-like and will walk on a leash, play fetch, etc.

The real question is: What kind of cat will suffer a leash to be put on it?

Maybe for you.

I, for one, see the evidence before me in those pictures.

I have walked cats on leashes. Mostly it was really, really, really boring, because the cats insisted on sniffing every single thing ever. But I saw someone walking a cat on a leash in the arboretum once without problems.
