I have some questions about filming on the Mystic River.
As a few of you in this comm know, I'm making a movie. Because of the tiny budget I have, I nearly passed out when I heard the rates the MDC charges for shooting in the areas it governs ($24/hour for a cop on duty).
The scene I'd want to shoot is fairly small; a cast of 12 and a five-person crew (if that). We would not be shooting sound, and we would be using available light. From a distance, those who didn't know any better would probably think we were having a picnic.
My questions are: how heavily does the MDC police the Mystic River Reservation? What is the likelihood that our production would get shut down? Also, does the "we're film students" excuse still fly?
