What happened? Power went out about 15 minutes ago, most of Davis is in the dark, Day and Dover and parts of Highland and Holland too. Anyone know anything?

Teele Square is out, too. Anyone know what happened or if power is restored?

We were out on the Somerville side of Cameron but the Cambridge side was still on. It came back on about 20 minutes ago but was out for at least a half an hour, no idea why.

Up on Spring Hill, it went out on us for ~30 seconds or so. We were watching a movie on streaming, and the power wasn't even off long enough for the buffer to notice!

I was in the Somerville Theatre when in happened (we all got comped tickets). It really seemed to hit all the streets (and traffic lights) of Davis Square except the College Ave side. A couple of fire engines were hanging out near the 5 Horses Saloon area of Highland Ave, then left after 15 minutes. Surprisingly, when I walked home, which is a mile away between Porter and Union Squares, my clock was blinking and computer down - even though all the street lights, etc seemed fine during my walk. I am surprised at the extent (and length) of this outage.

It came back on here (a block off Elm) about 20, 25 minutes ago.

I saw over Twitter that apparently a transformer blew.

The @311Somerville Twitter feed was very useful to me during this, for future reference!

Thanks! I was about to call 311 when we got it back on. I didn't even think of Twitter!

I was away from my apartment on Day Street from about 7:30 to 11, but when I got back home, my clock radio was working normally and not blinking "12:00". So I don't think the outage happened on my block.

It looks like it was a blown transformer.

I was actually napping, then woke up when my room got overly warm and stuffy and realized that my clock, lamps, and fan (and then the rest of the house, and then my neighbors' houses' lights) were off. Not sure what time the outage started, but I woke up by 9:30pm and stumbled out the door to run to Target to get candles and flashlights. When I got back by 10:30, my clock was flashing 0:48--it must have come back on right after I left, haha.

On the bright side, now you have new candles and flashlights that you can misplace before the next outage!
