Now that McIntrye and Moore is gone, are there any book stores around here that will take used academic-ish books? I don't necessarily need money for them, just would like them to go to someone who wants them eventually.

Along those lines, if anyone here wants any of the below, let me know and they are yours:

Women According to Men: The World of Tudor-Stuart Women by Suzanne Hull (not scholarly, primarily a collection of quotations, rather out of context)

The Planting of Civilization in Western Pennsylvania by Buck and Buck

The Perilous Frontier: Nomadic Empires and China, 221 BC to AD 1757 by Barfield

Feudal Society volumes 1 and 2 by Bloch

Enclaves of America: The Rhetoric of American Political Architecture Abroad, 1900-1965 by Robin

Philadelphia Preserved: Catalog of the Historic American Buildings Survey by Webster

The 2005 issues of American Anthropologist

In a round about way your in luck!?!

Im the former manager of McIntyre & Moore and have a "side business" of selling books.

Well, selling the 8000+ books I amassed after 15 years. An attempt at downsizing rather
than starting a "business".

My email is Iliumbooks@gmail(dot)com

Im in Somerville & have a car.

Best
-Peter

The Raven in Harvard Square is likely to be interested in some of those.

Try Commonwealth Books downtown?

There's a hole-in-the-wall place between Porter and Harvard set back from the street in the basement of a house. They sell rare and used horse books and architecture books so would probably be interested in some of what you have. They also might know where you could send the others.

I'd love "The Perilous Frontier" if you're still offering it.
