Looking for kefir grains

I've been thinking about trying to make my own kefir and am looking to get some of the grains to start it. I know you can buy these from a place online, but I'd prefer to get them for free/trade from someone that has some going.

On offer for trade is a split of my King Arthur sourdough starter and/or a loaf of fresh baked bread.

Hey! I've been meaning for ages to find more people to take some of our grains. Don't specifically need a trade for them, but I won't turn down fresh bread.

Hi! This is a whole year later, but are you still giving away kefir grains? And are you still in the area? I could pay in blueberry jam or bread, if you prefer bread. (My seven year old went to visit her grandparents and came back with a loooove of kefir and my lord is that expensive at the store!) If you are, could you email me at amanda[dot]ferry[at] gmail?

Nope, I stopped keeping our culture alive. I got mine at Gem Cultures, which (if I recall) was about $22 with shipping for the initial culture.
