Theatre@First is proud to announce auditions for its next mainstage production, Martin Sherman's Bent. Nominated for both the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award, Bent is a powerfully tragic and deeply revealing examination of the treatment of gay men in 1930's Germany. Bent is the story of Max, a homosexual man living a hedonistic life as a con artist in Berlin, forced to flee the city as he is pursued by the SS, and finding love and redemption in the unlikeliest of places.
Auditions for Bent will take place Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10 from 7-10pm at Unity Somerville, 6 William Street. Performances will be September 14-22. The play has nine roles of varying sizes. All characters in the play are male. Women are invited and encouraged to audition, with the knowledge that all characters will remain portrayed as male.
Auditions are by appointment only. Please visit Theatre@First for more information and to sign up for an audition slot.
