Save my kids' garden bed from being destroyed!

The City of Somerville has given my family 4 days to destroy this beautiful flower and vegetable bed planted by my children on Powder House Blvd., else they will do it for us.

Oh they're just getting droopy now because the head are heavy now. My son's taller than them in their current drooped over state. These ones are about to kick it anyway--once they bloom, they're pretty much done, but there are younger plants waiting to take their place as they die out--we staggered the plantings, and we have more seedlings to transplant from containers.. to somewhere.

plus my son totally over planted. He literally dumped piles of seeds in the areas where he wanted certain plants. So at least we'll have an ongoing supply as we pull out the droopy grown ones that got all the sun first and slowed the growth of the other less fortunate seedlings underneath ---that's a plus, but then if the smaller sunflowers only get as high as 5 feet or whatever, the same problem might happen.

I also wrote the following to Steve:

I would very much like to know what an acceptable height for flowers is--and also how that differs from standards for shrubs planted in Blvd. medians and how this differs from standards for trees. As you know, a very wide and tall tree was removed from this very spot.

And, as this google group's contact information was given (manually delivered on paper printouts) to about 20 households in our direct vicinity, I think we do know the folks who initially complained, and we would be happy to mediate if they cannot or do not wish to tale to us themselves."
