The Somerville Yogurt Making Cooperative (based in Davis Square) is looking for new members. Get a weekly quart of the most thick, creamy, rich and tart yogurt in the world, made from whole or nonfat milk from a local dairy. Membership in the coop costs $2.50 per quart. Members rotate responsibility for weekly yogurt-making in our kitchen located just outside of Davis Sq. in FirstChurch. No previous yogurt making experience is necessary.

Date: 2012-08-07 10:45 pm (UTC)Besides making yogurt there's also the weekly pick-up of yogurt and drop off of your empty yogurt jars to the church. Everyone has labeled mason jars and is responsible for returning them for more yogurt (if an empty jar with your name on it is not there then no yogurt is made for you). But that's not really a big chore if you are already visiting the church to pick up your yogurt anyway.
