The zipper ripped off my sofa slipcover in the wash, and I would like to get it repaired. I called tailors like Jack's and Eleni of New York, but both said they don't do that kind of work. Any suggesstions?

I'm tagging this "tailor" in hope that some of the earlier posts with this tag may be helpful. (No guarantees.) You'll see several other recent posts that mention zippers.

There is a Zipper Hospital in Brookline, near Coolidge Corner. I thought they used to have a drop-off point in Harvard Square, but I don't see that listed on their website. Give them a call and ask.

I had upholstery work done by International Upholstery in Medford (http://www.yelp.com/biz/international-upholstering-company-medford) -- I can highly recommend him, I just don't know if he'd do this small a job.

Eddie over at Sunshine Lucy's Furniture on Holland will make new slipcovers - he redid the cushions and the covers on my couch - and he may be able/willing to fix a zipper on yours. I'd check with him.
