HONK! 2012 Kickstarter campaign ending soon

Hi-

Just wanted to let people here know that our Kickstarter campaign to help bring what is looking like close to 35 bands to Davis Square (phew!) is ending in less than two weeks. If you'd like to support the festival, we could really use your help at:

EDIT: I'm sorry, I totally forgot to mention something when I posted this yesterday. If you've never heard of HONK! or even if you have but don't want to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign, you might find it cool to check out the 3 minute video on that page. I think it gives a nice flavor of the festival that might encourage you to join us in October.

If I remember right, the kickstarter project didn't reach its $10k goal last year, and it looks like it's pretty far short of meeting $12k this year. Of course, if the goal isn't reached, that means $0. Any thought of aiming a little smaller next time around?

I see also that the big-ticket rewards don't seem to be attracting much attention. Maybe they could use some re-working?

Nope you must be thinking of another project, we did indeed make and exceed last year's goal (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dnb/2011-honk-festival-of-activist-street-bands).

This year our festival is planned to be even bigger and better than last year. Last year we had 23 bands, this year we have close to 35 so we increased the goal (since we needed to raise more to bring more bands). I have high hopes we will make the larger goal this year because our community is so awesome.

As for the rewards, this is only our second campaign so we are definitely still learning. If you have any suggestions for future campaigns, please drop us a message at honkfest,org, thanks!

Ouch, it looks like our anti-spam WordPress plugin is misbehaving. It looks like you also emailed us successfully at webmaster@honkfest.org in addition to posting here, so I'll debug it with you via email. Thanks for the report!
