Ever since the transmitter went down in April, we haven't be able to get Channel 4 on our TV (we don't have cable, so Comcast can't help with this one). I understand they fixed it (a while ago), but we still get no signal. Does anyone else have this problem, or have any idea how to fix it? I've tried resetting the digital converter box, and our antenna is one of those heavy duty ones. We have no problem getting any other broadcast station.

Thanks!

I haven't had any problem getting CBS over the air aside from those days back in the spring. Do you live on a hill or in the shadow of a hill? That can make a difference, in my experience... (and, of course, that's not fixable unless you happen to be looking for a new place, unfortunately...)

I was just tossing that out there since our reception (and number of channels received) went way up two years ago when we moved to the top of a hill...

Good luck!

Stupid question: Are you sure you're trying to get the digital and not analog signal?

If you've watched any(*) broadcast TV since June 2009, it's digital.

(*)Some low-power rural stations can broadcast in analog until 2015, but that doesn't apply to the big network stations in Boston.

We had both CBS and ABC disappear for about two weeks earlier this month, and then they mysteriously came back. I'm not sure why. I just periodically tell my TV to re-do the "auto-tune" function to detect over-the-air broadcasts. Sometimes it finds new stuff, most recently a pair of specifically Puerto Rican and Cuban TV networks in addition to Univision.

I've noticed Channel 4 disappearing now and then, but then the signal comes back when I run auto-tune on the digital converter box.

We get it as 4.1 instead of 4.0

Did you lose WGBH as well? A bunch of TV stations all use the same antenna that was damaged last April. I contacted WGBH and they have been sending me status updates on the repair work. The repair work is ongoing. Here is the latest update from their web site. http://www.wgbh.org/articles/Work-May-Affect-WGBH-2-Signal-5979 (http://www.wgbh.org/articles/Work-May-Affect-WGBH-2-Signal-5979)
